Robert Crouch:

The person who has built General Remodeling to be the company with the reputation that it has today is Robert Crouch, it's owner. Robert is a Catawba County native who believes that his business should reflect his personal values.

He likes to do things right. He is licensed. He is insured. He insists on quality work.

He treats his employees and subcontractors right. He does this because he believes that by doing so he can retain the best of Catawba County's craftsmen. The more skilled his craftsmen, the better a job they do for his clients. As a result of this attitude, he has a solid employee base. His carpenters have been with him for over 15 years. He only uses a trade base of subcontractors.

He is reliable. All of his work is guaranteed. After he is finished with a job, if problems arise, he will return to work them out. He is always working to establish repeat customers. That's why we have such a large repeat customer base!

He wants to be able to hold his head up knowing that you are fully satisfied with the work he has done. He is local and intends to stay that way. After he finishes a job for you, he may run into you at the store! More than that, he knows that the future of his business depends on recommendations that his past clients give.

As for Robert himself, he has lived in Catawba County his whole life, and he is deeply connected with it. One of his passions is Boy Scouts, and he's been a scout leader for 22 years. He is also an active member of St. James Lutheran Church. He has served on its Church Council and multiple church committees. He has even been asked to be a delegate from this area to the convocation of the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) this August.

He has also been very involved in committees that affect the quality of life of all who live in Catawba County. He was a founding member of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. He has also served on the Small Area Planning Committee and the Planning and Zoning Board.

In addition to those commitments, he has been an active member of the Home Builders Association of Hickory and Catawba Valley. He is currently serving his second consecutive term as President and has been on its Board of Directors for four years. A couple of years ago he was a founding members of two of the associations Councils: the Remodelers Council of Greater Hickory, and the Catawba Valley Green Building Council.
